    So when living in the bay area you are bound to be exposed to or experience 2 things, poverty and diversity.   Both of which lead to stress and inventive ways of getting by. 

    Today's adventure, rogue food getting.  I refuse to call it by it's more commonly used name because it feel like the people in the sub-cultures associated with it would reject me straight away, and call me bourgeoisie or some bullshit. 

    I'm unemployed and have not yet resigned myself to living off the government cheese, and if companies want to get rid of perfectly good, day old bread, still in the bags, in bread only bins, I'm totally fine with taking a few sour batards for myself!

    I know I haven't posted in a while.  It's mostly because I'm frantically looking for work.  I've applied to over 20 jobs, some in the industry some not and haven't heard boo from any of them.  NOT A SINGLE ONE.  I'm running out of money, and i can't even get a retail job to pay the bills.  ugh.  well i'm off to go give my resume to a beauty supply store down the street.  we'll see if they hire the girl who has a bachelors degree but can't run the cash register.

Well mostly because this thing was kind of a bust.  If compliment had been cash, i'd be able to pay rent this month.  but instead i sold one of my upcycled shopping totes.   I talked to tons of people and gave lots of business cards out got asked to do a custom piece (then she never called).  I got one of my donated looks back because no one wanted to buy it.  It was the first look out on the run way and no one seemed to understand that it was an auction and your supposed to bid.  the rest of the bids were like pulling teeth and everything went for way less than expected.  I wonder if the LAB lost money on this event? 

Whatever.  I'm moving on and applying to more local design companies.  I put things that I make up for sale on my etsy page.  pretty weak right now but I'm hoping someone buys something, even if it's out of pity.
