Another Progress Report on Our New Home
I can't wait to start writing about games again....
The house is starting to come together. Christine and I went to Truro with morning with Stephen - we rented a U-Haul trailer and hitched it to Stephen's truck. He's been a big help these last couple of days. We had lunch with Christine's parents and then loaded up the trailer. We were back in Halifax by 3pm, and we immediately started unpacking.
I worked on the office while Christine got started with the kitchen. I was able to finish the office today, for the most part - there are some books that we need to move to another room eventually, but the desks and shelves are all set up. I also got my beautiful PC running again - I'm writing my blog entry on my own computer for the first time since we started packing. Once the office was completed, I started separating boxes and organizing them into the rooms where their contents need to go. I'm gonna unpack my clothes and put them away before bed. Christine is still working in the kitchen - it's a massive job. All the dishes have to be washed before put away, and Christine has a lot of kitchenware from Truro that hasn't been used in years. I've been helping her for the last hour or two with whatever she tels me to do; I just got back from Burger King where I picked up a late-night snack for us (chicken fingers and salad for Christine, Whopper combo for me.)
The Habs lost against the Flyers tonight, which means they're out of the playoffs. And that sucks. I can't even remember if there are any Canadian teams left - I don't think there are. Guess I'll be cheering for the Penguins, then. Go Sidney Crosby!
Tomorrow will be the first day in a while that is devoted to something other than moving/packing/unpacking: I'm going to spend the day working on our team project, the video game. I can't tell you how excited I am to start working on it - it feels like I've been away for ages. Our team has made some good progress, and this week should be a good one for getting things done.
When all of this moving is over, I will spend some time playing Fallout and updating my Fallout Journals. I also want to return to that article with Ken Levine, as there were a few more points that I wanted to touch on. I want to get this blog back on track, which is to say talking mostly about games. Obviously, these last few posts are designed only to keep me in competition, and I feel a little bad for having to resort to short summaries of my day. I want the blog to be more about gaming than about me. Rest assured it won't always be this way - I'm just kinda busy right now.
